What the Graduation Award gives you

In addition to your regular student grant, you will receive a sum of one-time bonus of about 2,554 EUR, which will be paid out upon completion of your studies. The exact amount corresponds to 50% of the DiSCo Lazio scholarship (Borsa di Studio) that you received in your final year of study, and therefore varies depending on the amount of your student grant. It is generally lower if you lived in your university town, and higher if you moved away from home to study. DiSCo Lazio, the regional authority for higher education in Lazio, pays this amount as a reward for completing your degree on time.

Who can apply

• You already hold a DiSCo grant: You received a scholarship (Borsa di Studio) from DiSCo Lazio in the academic year in which you graduated. Without this main grant, you are not eligible for this bonus.
• University: You are studying at a university in the Lazio region, for example at Sapienza, Tor Vergata, Roma Tre, Tuscia (Viterbo) or in Cassino.
• Degree type: You are completing a bachelor’s degree (Laurea), a master’s degree (Laurea Magistrale) or a single-cycle degree programme, such as medicine or law.
• On-time graduation: You will complete your degree within the official duration of study. You will be deemed to have left the programme if you have shortened the duration of your studies or completed your degree outside the reference year.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, including international students without Italian identity documents.

How to apply

Apply online within 30 days of graduating via your secure portal (Area Riservata) on the DiSCo Lazio website. Applicants will be ranked according to their final grade. If there are more applicants than funding available, priority will be given to those with the lowest ISEE – a measure of family income and assets.

How realistic are your chances?

This bonus is subject to very strict conditions. You must already have received a DiSCo scholarship, be studying in Lazio and complete your degree on time – so the pool of eligible candidates is small. If you meet these conditions and apply within the 30-day window, your chances are good. The biggest risk is the budget, as awards depend on the funds available and are ranked according to final degree average. A good final grade is an advantage.
