About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive a one-off grant of 200 EUR for one school year or academic year. Every year, the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (UNICAS) awards up to 7 of these grants through its Committee for Sport and Social Activities (CoPASS). These grants are intended to support the families of university staff; the grant replaces, rather than supplements, state student finance.

Who can apply

  • Family link: You are the child or orphan of a member of the University’s technical and administrative staff. Adopted children are treated in the same way as biological children.
  • Level of study: You can be at any level, from lower secondary school through upper secondary to university.
  • Field of study: Any topic is allowed.
  • Financial situation: Your family’s income is a factor. This is measured using the ISEE, an Italian indicator of a household’s financial circumstances.
  • No own income or other funding: You are not eligible to apply if you have your own income or are already receiving another scholarship or grant.

How to apply

Applications are made as part of the annual call for applications (bando) published by the university. The application deadline is 19 December. Selection is based on your family’s ISEE income and your academic results.

How realistic are your chances?

This is a very limited internal grant scheme. Only children and orphans of members of the university’s technical and administrative staff are eligible to apply; those with their own income or who receive other financial support are excluded, meaning that the eligible group is small. If your parents work there and your family’s income and your academic results justify it, your chances of securing one of the approximately 7 scholarships are quite good. The amount is modest, so it is better suited as a small top-up rather than as a main source of funding.
