About this grant / loan

Partial fee exemption at the University of Molise

At the University of Molise (UniMol) in Campobasso, Italy, you pay less in tuition fees if your household income falls within a specified range. This is not a cash payment, but a reduction in the annual flat-rate fee (contributo onnicomprensivo). How much you save depends on your ISEE, the Italian measure of household income and assets. The fee is calculated as follows: 0.07 x (ISEE minus 20,000 EUR). You will then receive a discount on this amount: 30% if your ISEE is between 24,001 and 26,000 EUR, 20% if your ISEE is between 26,001 and 28,000 EUR, and 10% if your ISEE is between 28,001 and 30,000 EUR. By way of comparison: if your ISEE is up to 24,000 EUR, you pay no annual fee at all, and from 30,000 EUR onwards, there is no further reduction. You will still pay an initial instalment of 156 EUR (regional tuition fee plus stamp duty). You can renew the discount every year of your studies up to the standard duration of your degree programme.

Who can apply

  • University: You are enrolled at the University of Molise in Campobasso, Italy.
  • Degree: You are studying on a Bachelor’s, Master’s or single-cycle Master’s programme. Technical colleges, first- and second-cycle Master’s programmes and short courses are excluded from this.
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. Students from non-EU countries should use an adjusted ISEE score or a country-specific flat rate.
  • Income: Your ISEE is between 24,001 and 30,000 EUR.
  • Study progress: From the second year of study onwards, you must have earned at least 10 ECTS credits during the reference period. From the third year of study onwards, you must have earned at least 25 ECTS credits.

How to apply

First, obtain an ISEE certificate. Submit the DSU (Dichiarazione Sostitutiva Unica, the income declaration) via a CAF office, a patronato or a tax adviser. You must then authorise UniMol to view this via the student portal. The deadline for submitting the DSU is 20 November. If you miss this deadline, you will not receive a discount and will have to pay the full fee.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not an award granted as part of a competition. It is an automatic fee reduction for all UniMol students whose income and academic performance meet the criteria; there is therefore no selection panel and no fixed number of places. If your ISEE falls within the range of 24,001 to 30,000 euros and you meet the requirements regarding the number of credit points earned, you will receive the reduction. The greatest risk is missing the ISEE deadline, which will result in you having to pay the full tuition fees. You should therefore submit your DSU application in good time.
