Prizes of degree (Premio di Laurea)

You will receive a one-off cash bonus. It amounts to 50% of the DiSCo scholarship you received in your final year, so the amount depends on your current grant. As this grant depends on where you live, the amount of the bonus also varies. A grant for commuters is around 3,533 euros per year, for non-local students around 6,472 euros and for local students around 2,250 euros. The total amount therefore ranges from around 1,125 to 3,236 euros. The grant is awarded by DiSCo Lazio. This is the regional body for the right to education, and the grant is awarded to students who complete their studies at universities and art academies in the Italian region of Lazio within the prescribed timeframe.

Who can apply

• Scholarship link: You received a DiSCo scholarship (Borsa di Studio) in the academic year in which you graduated. This award is intended solely to supplement that scholarship.
• Finish on time: You have completed your degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s or Master’s in a single-cycle programme) within the standard period of study. This is the number of years for which the degree programme is officially intended to last.
• University: You are studying at a university or art college in the Lazio region, for example at ‘La Sapienza’ University in Rome, ‘Tor Vergata’ University or the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: All nationalities are welcome, provided you have been awarded the DiSCo scholarship.
• Disability rule: If you have a disability of 66% or more, you are still eligible, provided you complete your degree within the first year following the end of the standard period of study.
• Excluded: If you have shortened the duration of your degree programme (abbreviazione di carriera), you are not eligible to apply.

How to apply

Apply for the grant online via your personal account (Area Riservata) on the DiSCo website under ‘Nuova richiesta’. Submit your application within 30 days of graduating. If the number of applications exceeds the funding available, applicants will be ranked according to their final degree mark. In the event of a tie, the applicant with the lower income (ISEE) will be awarded the grant.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is strictly limited. You must already have been awarded a DiSCo scholarship and complete your degree on time, meaning that only a specific group of students can apply. If you meet these requirements, your biggest risk lies in the funding cap, as awards are subject to the availability of funds and are ranked according to final exam marks. A good mark and an early application within the 30-day window will give you a good chance of success.
