About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive a one-off grant of 700 EUR for one year work on cataloguing the ‘Fondo Teatro Verdi’. This is the archive of the Teatro Verdi (formerly the Teatro Nuovo) in Padua. It comprises handwritten opera scores, symphonies and ballets from the late 18 and early 19 centuries, which are held in the library of the ‘Cesare Pollini’ Conservatoire of Music. Your task will be to assist with the cataloguing of these works in the online catalogue. The scholarship is awarded by the Conservatoire itself.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are studying at the ‘Cesare Pollini’ Conservatoire of Music in Padua, Italy.
  • Field: You are studying music or the performing arts, as the role involves reading and cataloguing musical manuscripts.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Where you work: You work in the library of the Conservatoire in Padua, so you’re studying and working in Italy.

How to apply

Apply to the Padua Conservatoire by 9 April.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is very specific. It is linked to a library project at a single conservatoire and requires the ability to read and handle old music manuscripts. As a result, the pool of eligible applicants is small; so if you are a music student at the Pollini Conservatoire and meet the requirements, your chances are good. The amount of 700 EUR is modest, which also limits the number of applicants.
