About this grant / loan
What you get
The University of Verona will grant you a reduction or exemption from tuition fees if you have a certified disability. The amount of fees payable depends on the degree of your disability:
- 66% or more (or recognised under Italy's Law 104/1992): You pay 0 EUR in annual tuition fees. These cover Bachelor’s, Master’s, single-cycle and combined degree programmes, as well as doctoral and postgraduate programmes. Furthermore, the fee of 200 EUR for taking a break from your studies does not apply.
- 50% to 65%: You pay at most 200 EUR per year for a full degree programme. Individual modules cost half the standard fee. Fees for specialist medical training programmes are capped at 500 EUR rather than up to 1,700 EUR.
The discount is granted directly by the university and is based on the Italian Law on Disability.
Who can apply
- University: You are enrolled at the University of Verona on any degree programme: Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, postgraduate programmes, individual modules or continuing professional development courses.
- Disability: You have a recognised disability or incapacity for work of at least 50%. You will need an official certificate from the relevant authority (in Italy, the ASL or the INPS; abroad, an equivalent body).
- Field of study: Any subject.
- Nationality: Any nationality.
- Study year: Every academic year.
How to apply
Send the disability application form and your disability certificate to the university's Inclusion and Accessibility Unit by 17 November. If you have requested a disability assessment by that date but do not have the certificate yet, you can submit a self-declaration and get reimbursed later. For postgraduate and continuing-education courses, you apply when you enrol.
How realistic are your chances?
This is not an award granted on a competitive basis. It is an entitlement for students enrolled at the University of Verona who can provide evidence of a recognised disability. There is no selection process against other applicants. If you meet the threshold for a disability and submit your certificate by the deadline, you will receive the discount. Please use the self-declaration procedure if your certificate is still pending.
