George David Family Scholarships (Business/ECCI-Variante)

What you get

You get about EUR 9,300 (£8,000) for one academic year to do a postgraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh. The money first covers your tuition fees, and anything left over is paid to you for living costs. The Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (also called the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute) and the University of Edinburgh give out two of these scholarships each year. If your programme lasts longer than one year, the scholarship still only covers the first year, so plan your budget for that.

Who can apply

• Where you live: When you apply, you live in Greece or Cyprus and are a citizen of one of those two countries.
• Level: You are applying for the first time to a postgraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh, either a taught Master's (such as MSc or LLM) or a Master's by Research.
• Grades: You have, or expect to get, a UK first-class or 2:1 honours undergraduate degree, or the equivalent from another country.
• Start date: Your programme starts in September.
• Not yet enrolled: You are not already a student on the programme by the application deadline.

How to apply

First apply for admission to the University of Edinburgh to get a university username. Then fill in the scholarship form in the EUCLID system through the MyEd portal. Applications close at 23:59 on the deadline in late June. Selection is based on grades alone.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut narrowly: only citizens of Greece or Cyprus starting a postgraduate degree at Edinburgh can apply, so the pool is small. With just two scholarships and a grades-only decision, strong marks matter most. If you clearly meet the residence and degree requirements and have a first or 2:1, your prospects are realistic. Applying early helps.
