General Description

The Social Service for students can provide assistance to struggling students in need of financial assistance and students with a specific need. The Service will assist and direct students in need in the application of financial aid. Financial assistance is given to students of modest means.

Requirements

To apply for financial aid, candidates must be enrolled as a regular student in the first or second cycle. Candidates must be Belgian or an assimilated Belgian with a parent of legal guardian of Belgian nationality, working in Belgium or receiving income support; or a spouse of Belgian nationality working in Belgium or receiving income support. UN refugees are also eligible to apply. Non-EU foreign students are not eligible for financial aid except in extreme circumstances. Candidates must have completed a minimum of two academic years of study in Belgium.
