Koepon Stichting MSc scholarship

For the 2-year Master’s programme in ‘Animal Sciences’ at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, within the Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics, you will receive a full scholarship. It covers your travel and living costs as well as your tuition fees and is generally sufficient to cover all your expenses as a student. If you enrol on the European Master’s in Animal Breeding and Genetics (EM-ABG), you will spend one year at Wageningen University and the second year at another European partner university participating in this programme. Funding is provided by the Koepon Stichting, a Dutch foundation that supports the dairy industry and animal production in less developed countries.

Who can apply

• Degree: You would like to study the 2-year Master’s degree programme in Animal Sciences at Wageningen University.
• Field of study: Your area of specialisation is animal breeding. The scholarship applies exclusively to this field.
• Admission: You meet Wageningen University’s entry requirements and are applying separately for the MSc programme.
• Where you come from: You come from a developing country.
• Motivation: You submit a compelling letter of motivation.

How to apply

Please apply to the Foundation and, separately, for admission to the Master’s programme (MSc) at Wageningen University. The application deadline is 1 May. Applications for the Master’s programme will be assessed in March.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is very specific: one university, one subject area (animal breeding) and exclusively applicants from developing countries – which is why very few people apply for it. If you clearly meet these criteria, are admitted to the Master’s programme at Wageningen and write a compelling personal statement, your chances are good. It is more important to demonstrate a genuine alignment with the foundation’s key areas of focus – dairy farming and animal breeding – than to submit a perfectly polished application.
