What you get

You will receive a tuition fee waiver, meaning that part of your tuition fees will be waived for the 12-month full-time international MBA programme at RSM in Rotterdam. The amount depends on the specific funding scheme and, in most cases, is calculated individually based on your profile. The RSM Fellows Award, which is awarded by invitation only, covers 50% of the tuition fees. The reduction will be deducted from your final tuition fee instalment, and you may only claim one scholarship at a time. The MBA is delivered by the Rotterdam School of Management, which is part of Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Who can apply

• Programme: You are applying for RSM’s international full-time MBA. The separate Executive MBA and the associated scholarships are not covered here.
• Degree: You hold a relevant university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent).
• Work experience: You have at least 3 years’ full-time professional experience.
• Admission test: You have an outstanding GMAT, GRE or Executive Assessment score.
• English: You have a very good command of English.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Profile: They are characterised by leadership potential, motivation and an international outlook.
• Extra awards: Some awards recognise the contribution your background makes to the student body. The ‘Alumni Lifelong Learning Award’, which comes with a fixed cash prize, is reserved exclusively for holders of a recognised degree from Erasmus University.

How to apply

You apply online via the RSM application portal. Your complete MBA application is automatically assessed for scholarships, so there is no separate application deadline for scholarships. The process runs in parallel with the rolling MBA application rounds, so you have the best chance of securing funding in the earlier rounds. You may include an optional essay of up to 500 words explaining why a particular scholarship is a good fit for you. Candidates for the ‘Fellows Award’ will be invited to a second interview with the Academic Director or Deputy Director of the MBA programme. The awards committee will assess you on the basis of your academic achievements, your professional successes and the perspective you bring to the programme.

How realistic are your chances?

These scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit and are linked to a competitive, high-calibre MBA programme. Competition is fierce, and awards are not automatic, although all applicants are considered. The value of the scholarships varies considerably, and the highest 50% waivers are awarded by invitation only, so a partial scholarship is a more realistic prospect than a full scholarship. Apply in an early, rolling round, as funding is limited throughout the cycle, and make use of the optional essay to present a compelling case for your application.
