About this scholarship

NTU International Scholarships

You get a cut in your tuition fees, from about 2,300 EUR (£2,000) up to 50% off your first-year fee. The saving comes straight off your bill once you enrol. It is not cash and does not cover living costs. On a Masters, a 50% award means a saving of roughly 10,700 to 14,600 EUR (£9,150 to £12,500) depending on the course. Undergraduates on the top Excellence award also get about 3,500 EUR (£3,000) off each later year. Nottingham Trent University (NTU) in England gives these out. Last year it gave over 1,300 awards to students from more than 80 countries.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are starting a full-time Bachelors or Masters at NTU in Nottingham or on its London campus.
  • Offer first: You already hold an offer for an eligible course. You need it before you can apply for the money.
  • Fee status: You count as an international (overseas) or European student for fees. UK home students do not qualify.
  • New student: You are joining as a new student, not continuing a course you already study at NTU.
  • Field of study: Open to many subjects, from architecture, art and design to business, law and sciences. A set list of eligible courses applies, and a few law, social work and teacher-training Masters are excluded.
  • Grades: You have strong academic results. Some country awards ask for a graded transcript to prove it.
  • Not eligible: Students fully sponsored by an employer or government, research students, and PGCE (teacher-training) courses.

Some awards go only to Masters students. Several are tied to a specific country (for example Egypt, India, Nigeria, Taiwan or Vietnam) or to women in computer science. You apply for all of them through one form, so you are automatically considered for those you fit.

How to apply

Once you hold an offer, you fill in a single online form that covers every NTU scholarship at once. For the higher-value awards, such as Excellence, you write a short essay (no AI-generated text allowed). For the January 2027 intake the deadlines are 30 September 2026 and, at the latest, 31 October 2026 at 16:00 GMT. You hear the result within five weeks of the deadline. There is no interview.

How realistic are your chances?

The lower awards work like a reward: if you meet the criteria you simply claim them, so they are easy to secure. The bigger cuts, the 25% and 50% Excellence scholarships, are judged on your essay and grades, so they are harder to land. With over 1,300 awards given each year and many tied to specific countries or subjects, a well-matched applicant with strong results has solid prospects, especially by applying at the earlier deadline.
