About this scholarship
CEDPS Academic Excellence Scholarship
You get about EUR 2,350 (£2,000) per year for up to three years, so up to roughly EUR 7,000 (£6,000) across your degree. Brunel University of London pays it in three instalments each academic year, straight to your UK bank account. It is for full-time undergraduate students starting selected engineering, design, computing, maths and physical-sciences courses. On a sandwich course you get nothing during your placement year. On an integrated Master's degree you get nothing during the Master's year.
Who can apply
- Course: You are starting a full-time undergraduate course in Brunel's College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences, for example electronic engineering, computer science, mathematics, design, or chemical, civil, mechanical or aerospace engineering. Placement routes and integrated Master's programmes count. Integrated Foundation courses do not.
- Study year: Your offer is for Year 1, the first year of the degree. You cannot apply if you enter a later year, a Foundation year or via Brunel Pathway College.
- Offer status: By 31 August 2026 your place must be "Unconditional Firm". That means you have met all offer conditions and firmly accepted.
- Grades: You have one of these: 3 A-Levels at AAB or better; International Baccalaureate with 33 points or better; BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at D*D*D* or better; 3 Scottish Advanced Highers at AAB or better; or Irish Leaving Certificate at H2 H2 H2 H3 H3 or better. Mixed qualifications or UCAS point equivalents do not count.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply, as long as you study on an eligible Brunel course.
- Keeping it: To keep the scholarship in later years, you need an upper second class (2:1) result at the end of Year 1 and Year 2.
How to apply
There is no separate application. You are considered automatically from your course application. The award is allocated from July and closes on 31 August 2026. Awards are confirmed by late September, after the A-Level results come out, and successful students hear by email.
How realistic are your chances?
The number of scholarships is unlimited, so this is not a contest for a few places. Everyone who meets the criteria gets it. The real filter is your grades and holding an unconditional firm offer for an eligible course by 31 August 2026. Clear that grade bar and firmly accept your place in time, and you can count on the award.
