What the Think Big Undergraduate Scholarship gives you

You get a tuition-fee discount of either about 7,500 EUR (GBP 6,500) or about 15,000 EUR (GBP 13,000) per year, for up to four years of your degree. This is the University of Bristol's main scholarship for international students. The money is taken off your tuition fees at enrolment, so you never see it as cash. It renews each year as long as you keep an average mark above 50%. You also join the Think Big Development Programme, which runs networking, leadership and career workshops, a welcome event and a LinkedIn community of international scholars. You can apply to work as a paid student ambassador too.

Who can apply

• Level: You apply for a full-time, in-person undergraduate degree at the University of Bristol, starting in September 2026.
• Fee status: You count as an overseas (international) student for fee purposes.
• Field of study: Almost any undergraduate subject qualifies, from engineering and computer science to law, business and history. Dentistry and medicine courses are not eligible.
• Admission: You must get an offer from Bristol before 24 April 2026, meet the entry requirements in your UCAS offer by 31 August 2026, and set Bristol as your Firm choice in UCAS.
• Timing: The award is only for September 2026 entry. You cannot defer it to a later year.

How to apply

First apply to study at Bristol through UCAS to get an application ID. Then fill in one scholarship form that covers all Think Big awards at once. Your form is matched with your study application and checked against every scholarship you may qualify for. There is no interview. Applications open on 21 October 2025 and close on 10 April 2026 at 10:00 UK time, with results shared in late May 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

Bristol has put up to 5 million GBP into the Think Big scheme for 2026, so there are many awards, not one single prize. The eligibility is broad (almost any subject, any international student), which widens the applicant pool, but the large funding pot balances this. If you already have a strong Bristol offer, meet the deadlines and make Bristol your Firm choice, you are well placed to be considered across several linked awards from the same form.
