About this scholarship

What you get

You get a tuition fee discount of 5,000 GBP per year of study (about 5,800 EUR). You keep it for every year of your programme, as long as you make satisfactory progress. The University of Glasgow in Scotland offers it to attract EU students, since Brexit made studying in the UK more expensive for them. There is no cap on the number of awards, so every eligible applicant can receive it.

Who can apply

  • Level: You are starting a taught master's degree, which is a taught programme that follows your first degree.
  • Where you study: You enrol at the University of Glasgow as a new student for the September 2026 or January 2027 intake.
  • Field of study: Nearly all taught master's programmes qualify, from engineering and computing to law, humanities and health sciences.
  • Nationality: You are from an EU member state and have EU fee status at the University of Glasgow.
  • Other funding: You are not fully funded by an outside sponsor. You cannot combine this with another university scholarship, except the Glasgow Alumni Discount.

How to apply

There is no separate application form. You apply for admission to your chosen master's programme, and you are automatically considered for the scholarship based on your academic record. If you are selected, you hear within two weeks of getting your offer of admission.

How realistic are your chances?

The number of awards is unlimited and there is no separate contest, so your prospects are strong if you meet the criteria: an EU national with EU fee status, admitted to an eligible Glasgow master's, and not fully funded from elsewhere. In practice, getting your place on the programme is the real hurdle, since the discount then follows almost automatically.
