What the CYBERSURE scholarship gives you

You receive 16,800 EUR per year for two years (33,600 EUR in total), and your tuition fees are covered in full. The grant helps pay for travel, visa, moving costs and everyday living while you study. This is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Scholarship, an EU-funded programme run by a consortium (a group of partner universities). Seven European technical universities run this one. The programme is a two-year Master's in Cybersecurity and Assurance (120 ECTS credits), taught entirely in English. You spend Year 1 in Norway at NTNU (in Trondheim and Gjøvik, plus a summer school and an internship). Then you move to one of six partner universities for a specialisation and your master's thesis, and you graduate with a double degree. If you have a disability, you can apply for extra support for your individual needs.

Who can apply

• Degree: You hold or are finishing a Bachelor's in computer science, IT, engineering or a related field. It must be worth at least 180 ECTS or three years of full-time study, from an officially recognised university.
• Grades: You have strong, consistently high marks. Selection is competitive and based mainly on your grades and how relevant your prior studies are.
• English: You prove your English, for example with IELTS Academic 6.5 (writing 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 92. You are exempt if you studied at least half of your degree in English in the EU/EEA, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland or at one of the consortium universities.
• Nationality: Anyone from any country can apply.
• Previous EU grants: You have not held an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master scholarship before.

How to apply

You apply online through NTNU's application portal. For the 2027 intake, the window runs from 16 November 2026 to 4 January 2027 (23:59 GMT+1). Your English test results must reach the admissions office by 18 January 2027. Selection is based on your documents, with no interview. Results are announced by mid-March 2027.

How realistic are your chances?

Places are limited (25 to 35 students a year) and scholarships go to the strongest applicants, so competition is real, especially as the programme is open worldwide. Your chances depend on how closely your Bachelor's fits the required fields and how strong your grades are. A clearly relevant technical degree with high marks is what sets applicants apart. The consortium lists 50+ scholarships for the 2027 intake, so the funded pool is larger than for many single-award programmes.
