Excellence Scholarship at IMT Atlantique

You get a partial tuition fee waiver of up to 50% off the regular fees for a Master of Science (MSc) programme at IMT Atlantique, a French graduate engineering school. IMT Atlantique sets the exact reduction individually, based on your academic record and overall profile. It can range from a small cut to the full 50%. The waiver applies for the whole length of your MSc, which usually runs about two years (three semesters plus a six-month final internship). You study on one of the campuses in Brest, Nantes or Rennes.

Who can apply

• Degree: You hold a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification.
• Programme: You are applying for an MSc programme at IMT Atlantique, for example in nuclear engineering, embedded AI, information technology or process and bioprocess engineering.
• Where you study: You come from abroad to study in France at IMT Atlantique.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply. This award is for international applicants.
• Language: You can prove your English skills, for example with TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC or a Cambridge certificate.
• Age: No age limit.
• Bonus: Applicants from IMT Atlantique's partner universities get extra consideration.

How to apply

There is no separate scholarship application. Every MSc application you submit is automatically considered for the waiver. Selection looks at your academic background, language skills, motivation, work experience and activities outside study. If you are selected, the scholarship decision arrives with your admission letter, within the regular MSc application deadlines.

How realistic are your chances?

The waiver is awarded on a sliding scale rather than as a fixed prize, so many admitted students receive some reduction. The full 50% goes to the strongest profiles. If your grades and overall application clearly stand out, and especially if you come from a partner university, your prospects for a meaningful cut are good. Applying early within the MSc deadlines never hurts.
