General Description
The Herbert Eichholzer award is named after the famous Graz architect (1903-1943). It is awarded every two years to talented students of architecture. The award is made by invitation of the Faculty of Architecture in Graz. The Cultural Department of the City of Graz applied for the award in recognition of the importance of the architect Eichholzer. The decision is made by the city senate.
The award on the one hand symbolises the closeness of the City of Graz and the Technical University of Graz with Herbert Eichholzer. On the other hand, it continues a responsible discussion of the architect with the currents of his time. It also creates a permanent memory of Eichholzer's architectural works.
The total financial envelope currently amounts to 3 x per € 2.200,00.
