Vila Nova de Famalicão Municipality - Higher Education Scholarship for students living in Vila Nova de Famalicão

What you get

You will receive a one-off payment of 500 EUR to 1,100 EUR for one academic year. The exact amount depends on your household income. The town of Vila Nova de Famalicão pays this grant through its Youth Centre (Casa da Juventude) to young people from the region who are studying at a higher education institution. You must submit a new application for each year in which you wish to receive support.

Who can apply

• Where you live: You have been living in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão for more than 3 years and can provide proof of this.
• Degree or level: You are enrolled on your first Bachelor’s, Master’s or short course in higher technical education (CET or CTeSP) and do not yet hold a qualification at this level.
• Institution: You can study at a public or private higher education institution.
• Field of study: Any topic is allowed.
• Age: You are 30 years old or younger.
• Financial need: Your household’s monthly per capita income must not exceed 60% of the Portuguese minimum wage. Your family’s savings and investments must not have exceeded approximately 102,936 EUR at the end of the previous year.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

You apply online at bolsas.famalicao.pt and upload the required documents, such as proof of household composition, enrolment and income. The application period runs every year from 15 October to 15 November. Once the deadline has passed, all applications will be assessed before the final list of scholarship recipients is drawn up.
