Lamego Municipality higher education scholarship

You will receive 100 EUR per month for 10 months, i.e. 1,000 euros, during the academic year. Lamego Town Council (Câmara Municipal de Lamego) pays this amount to cover the costs of studying: accommodation, meals, travel expenses, study materials and tuition fees. It is intended for students from Lamego who are unable to finance their studies from their own resources.

Who can apply

• Where you live: You have been living in the municipality (concelho) of Lamego for more than 3 years.
• Financial need: You cannot afford to pay for a university degree out of your own pocket.
• Degree: You are enrolled on a Bachelor’s degree programme (Licenciatura) or an integrated Master’s degree programme (Mestrado Integrado).
• No higher degree yet: You do not yet hold an equivalent or higher academic qualification.
• Grades: You have not failed the past academic year. An exception applies if you can provide evidence of a serious reason, such as a prolonged illness.
• Other funding: If you are already receiving another scholarship or similar funding, you must inform the local authority of this in advance.
• Field of study: Any subject is allowed.
• Where you study: You can attend any higher education institution. It does not have to be in Lamego.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the local scholarship portal at bolsas.cm-lamego.pt. For 2025/2026, the application period runs from 16 to 30 March 2026. You may submit any missing documents by 29 April 2026.
