University of Beira Interior - Santander Universities - Ibero-American Scholarship Program for UBI Bachelor students to study one semester abroad

What you get

You will receive 2,300 EUR for a semester abroad, funded by Banco Santander Totta via the University of Beira Interior (UBI) in Covilha, Portugal. This amount covers the additional living costs during your stay abroad, but not your entire budget. Furthermore, there are no tuition or enrolment fees at the host university. Your semester abroad will be fully recognised and will replace the corresponding semester at UBI. You will be attending a partner university in the Ibero-American region, mainly in Brazil, Spain or Uruguay. The amount of the grant is determined by Santander Totta and may therefore vary from year to year. You are responsible for the costs of accommodation, flights, visas and health insurance.

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled at the University of Beira Interior (UBI) in Portugal.
• Level: You are a student on a Bachelor’s degree programme (Licenciatura) or an integrated degree programme.
• Study year: You are in at least your second year of study and have completed roughly half of your Bachelor’s degree (120 ECTS credits).
• Enrolment status: Your enrolment at the UBI is current and has not yet expired.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are studying at UBI.
• Field of study: Open to all disciplines. With the support of your ECTS coordinator, you can choose a host university that suits your field of study.

How to apply

You apply online via UBI’s ‘Balcao Virtual’ platform, quoting your student number. UBI’s International Office (GPRI) will then submit your application by the deadline set by the respective host university. You must also register on the Santander Scholarship website and take out the insurance required by Santander Totta.
