Erasmus+ mobility grant at Universidade Lusófona

You get a monthly grant of around 500 EUR to study or do an internship at a partner university abroad, for a stay of 2 to 12 months. The exact rate depends on the cost of living in your destination country. Portugal's National Agency Erasmus+ sets it, usually in June or July. While you are abroad you pay no tuition, exam or laboratory fees at the host university. You also keep paying your normal Lusófona tuition, but with a large discount: 70% off your monthly fee for study abroad and 50% for an internship. The two top-scoring students per faculty pay nothing. Students in integrated master's programmes can be funded for up to 24 months in total. You can also join a short Blended Intensive Programme (a mix of in-person and online study) of under 2 months. If no grant money is left but you meet all the criteria, you can still go on a 'Zero Grant' basis with the same rights, and travel or inclusion top-ups may be added.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are currently enrolled at Universidade Lusófona, either at the Lisbon or Porto campus.
• Degree or level: Any degree programme: short-cycle degree (CTESP), Bachelor’s, Master’s (including integrated degree programmes) or PhD.
• Study progress: If you are enrolled on a Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s programme, you must have completed your first year of study. You must also have earned at least 60 ECTS credits in your current cycle of study from previous academic years.
• Field of study: Every subject area. Which partner universities and countries are available for a period of study abroad depends on the agreements in place for your specific degree programme.
• Nationality: All nationalities welcome.
• Where you go: A partner university abroad, not in Portugal.
• Account status: Your fees and documents at Lusófona are up to date.
• Language: If your stay is 14 days or more, you will sit the free Online Language Support (OLS) test in your host’s language of instruction and achieve the required level.

Selection is based primarily on your weighted average mark, with a small bonus awarded for later years of study. In the event of a tie, priority is given to first-time applicants and those who have earned more ECTS credits.

How to apply

First talk to the mobility coordinator of your faculty. Then submit your application online through the SOP - Mobility Online platform with your student login. For the 2026/27 year the first-semester windows run 17 November to 31 December 2025 and 1 to 31 January 2026. The second-semester windows run 1 May to 30 June 2026 and 1 to 31 July 2026. You can apply for an internship at any time. Being nominated is not final: the host university must also accept you.
