Luigi Bocconi University (Milan/Italy) - "ISU Bocconi Scholarship"

Benefit

You will receive a grant of cash grant of about 2,143 to 8,248 EUR per year (approximately 423 euros per month) towards your studies in Bocconi University in Milan. The amount depends on your family income and the distance between your home and the university. You will receive the highest amount if you live more than 90 minutes away or are from abroad, and a lower amount if you can commute to the university in less than an hour. In addition to the grant, you will also receive:

• Full exemption from tuition fees and enrolment fees.
• One free lunch a day, worth around 829 euros a year, as well as cheaper meals in the canteen.
• A paid 200-hour student work programme (paid part-time employment at the university).

The scholarship is funded by the Lombardy Region and the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research, and is administered by ISU Bocconi. It is awarded for one academic year at a time. You must reapply each year until you have completed the standard duration of your degree programme. Over the course of your studies, the total duration of funding may amount to approximately 66 months (7 semesters for a Bachelor’s degree, 5 for a Master’s degree, and 11 for the integrated law programme).

Eligibility

• University: You are enrolled at Bocconi University in Milan.
• Degree level: You are studying on a Bachelor’s degree programme (BSc), the integrated law programme (IMAL), a Master’s degree programme (MSc) or a PhD programme.
• Field of study: Every course offered at Bocconi.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply (Italian nationals, EU citizens and non-EU citizens).
• Financial need: Your family’s income indicator (ISEE/ISEEU) must not exceed approximately 26,888 EUR, and your wealth indicator (ISPE/ISPEU) must not exceed approximately 58,452 EUR. Non-EU applicants must also provide evidence of a 2024 income of at least approximately 6,947 EUR.
• Grades: After your first year of study, you must earn a minimum number of credit points in order to continue receiving the scholarship (for example, 44 credit points in the first year of your Bachelor’s degree).
• No repeat funding: You have not yet obtained a qualification at the same or a higher level and are not currently receiving a similar scholarship.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the ISU-Bocconi portal within the relevant application window for your admission date. The main application deadline is 25 June for the academic year 2026–27. A late application window, which closes on 4 September, is only open to students whose income falls just within the new income thresholds. There is no interview. Places are allocated to first-year students based on income and to students in higher semesters based on credit points and grades.

How realistic are your chances?

Hundreds of scholarships are available every year (219 for first-year students and 259 for students in higher semesters in the years 2026–27), which improves your chances. However, as funding is limited and awarded strictly on a merit basis, some eligible students will miss out once the funds have been exhausted. If you clearly meet the income thresholds, maintain your academic performance and apply within the timeframe applicable to your semester, your prospects are good.
