BMWF - Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research - Foreign Exchange Scholarship for Students of Universites of the Arts

What you get

This scholarship pays EUR 600 per month for 4 or 9 months abroad (one or two semesters). The Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research awards it to students at Austrian public universities of the arts who want to study at a foreign institution outside the Erasmus network.

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled as a regular student at an Austrian public university of the arts.
• Field of study: Open to all arts disciplines.
• Nationality: You hold Austrian or EU citizenship.
• Age: You are 35 or younger.
• Study progress: You have completed at least six semesters counting towards your degree at an Austrian arts university, or hold an equivalent diploma. You must be on track: no more than one semester behind the standard programme length.
• Grades: You have strong academic results. The programme requires this but sets no published grade threshold.
• Destination: Your host country is outside Austria and is not covered by the Erasmus programme.
• Host confirmation: The foreign university has confirmed your admission, and your main arts lecturer there has agreed to supervise you.
• Other funding: You are not receiving Austrian state student aid at the same time.

Apply through the International Office of your own Austrian arts university. They run the process and can tell you current deadlines and which documents you need.
