About this scholarship
What the Erasmus grant at IPAM gives you
You will receive a monthly grant of approximately 500 EUR to study for a semester or a full academic year at a partner university in Europe. Funding is provided by the European Commission via IPAM (Instituto Português de Administração de Marketing), a Portuguese business school with campuses in Porto and Lisbon. IPAM has more than 75 partner universities specialising in marketing and management across Europe. You choose a host university from this network and study there whilst remaining enrolled at IPAM. The number of scholarships per round is limited. If you do not receive the scholarship, you can still go abroad with full Erasmus student status, just without the scholarship.
Who can apply
- Where you study now: You are enrolled at the IPAM in Porto or Lisbon.
- Where you go: To one of IPAM’s European partner universities, for a semester or a whole year.
- Field of study: IPAM offers courses in marketing and management, so your exchange programme is a good fit for these areas.
- Level: You are studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are IPAM students.
- Grades and progress: The ranking of study places is based on two factors: your grade point average compared with the average for your degree programme (55%) and the number of ECTS credits you have already earned compared with the total number of credits available so far (45%).
How to apply
Applications are made via the IPAM International Office, which conducts the selection process once a year. The main round takes place in February and March for the following academic year. In a second, smaller round in September and October, the remaining places for the forthcoming second semester are allocated.
How realistic are your chances?
As only IPAM students are eligible to apply, the pool of applicants is already small. The number of scholarships is limited, and places are awarded based on a strict ranking of marks and ECTS credits. If you have a solid average mark and your ECTS credits are on track, your chances are good. Applying in the main round in February gives you the best choice of host universities, as only the remaining places are available in the September round.
