Stokkemarke Sogns Menighedsråd - Ms. Agnes Aage's Scholarship

What you get

You will receive a one-off grant of approximately 280 EUR (around 2,100 DKK), which will be paid out over 12 months. The exact amount varies from year to year, as the fund only distributes the surplus from its modest endowment. The grant is administered by the parish council (Menighedsråd) of Stokkemarke. The siblings Agnes and Aage Aage set up the fund and bequeathed their savings to help less well-off children from their home parish.

Who can apply

• Where you are from: You were born in, or live in, Stokkemarke Parish on the island of Lolland.
• Family situation: You have lost one or both parents. This is the main criterion. In a year when there are no such applicants, the fund may instead support the further education of other, less well-off children who were born in the community or have close ties to it.
• Financial need: You have little or no money of your own.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply, provided they can demonstrate the necessary connection to the local community.

How to apply

Ask the vicar or the chair of the parish council for an application form. Complete it and return it by post or email. The deadline is 30 September, although this may vary slightly from year to year.
