Benefit

Once a year, you will receive a one-off grant to support your studies, for example to fund a study-related field trip. In the past, such grants have been used to fund a trip to Prague on the subject of urban public transport, as well as a trip to Istanbul for a music student. The amount of the grant is not made public. The scholarship is provided by a Danish family foundation established by the descendants of the Danish pharmacist Albert Heinrich Riise (1810-1882) and is financially supported by the spirits manufacturer Old St. Croix.

Eligibility

• Family link: You are a descendant of Albert Heinrich Riise. This is a closed family scholarship which is not advertised publicly.
• Where you study: You are studying at a university or other higher education institution.
• Field of study: Any topic is fine.
• Grades: Your academic performance will be taken into account in the selection process.
• Financial need: Your financial situation will be taken into account.

How realistic are your chances?

Only descendants of the Riise family may apply. If you belong to this group, the pool of applicants is small, as the scholarship is awarded once a year within the family. If you can demonstrate both strong academic achievement and a genuine financial need, you will stand out from the rest.
