What the Bending Spoons scholarship gives you

You get a one-off payment of 10,000 EUR for your studies. You can spend it on tuition fees, books, materials and equipment. The money is paid directly to you. Three of these scholarships are awarded each year. They are funded by Bending Spoons, one of Europe's larger tech companies, and run by the non-profit organisation EmployAbility. The aim is to help students with a disability or health condition build a career in tech.

Who can apply

• Health condition: You have a disability, are neurodivergent, or have a mental health or long-term health condition. This includes dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, ADHD, visual or hearing impairment, diabetes, epilepsy, depression and anxiety disorders, among others.
• Level: You are enrolled in, or accepted onto, a Bachelor's or Master's programme for the 2026-2027 academic year.
• Field of study: You study computer science, computer engineering, informatics or a closely related technical subject.
• Where you study: Your university is an accredited institution in the UK or Europe.
• Residence: You live in the UK or Europe during your studies. Any nationality and gender can apply.
• Grades: You have a strong academic record.
• Motivation: You can show a clear passion for computer science.

How to apply

You apply through a single online form on the EmployAbility website. You submit a CV, your academic transcripts and one reference letter from a teacher, adviser or supervisor. You also answer written questions about your passion for computer science and a technical project you worked on. The deadline is 5 April 2026, and results are announced in July 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is aimed at a narrow group: you need a specific field (computer science and related subjects), study in the UK or Europe, and a disability or health condition. So the applicant pool is smaller than for open scholarships. With only three places, selection still comes down to the strength of your essays and record against the other applicants. If you clearly fit the criteria and put real effort into the written answers, your prospects are solid.
