UniMC scholarships for international students

You will receive 8,000 EUR (gross, including tax) for a full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme at the University of Macerata in Italy. The amount will be paid in two instalments of 4,000 EUR each: one in the first year of study and one in the second. The second instalment is conditional upon you earning at least 40 credits in your second year. Furthermore, you will not pay any tuition fees for the standard duration of your studies, although you will still be required to pay small stamp duties and regional taxes. You may apply for priority accommodation in a student hall of residence in Macerata. The University of Macerata awards 20 of these scholarships each year, of which 2 are reserved for students from the University of Hanoi in Vietnam.

Who can apply

• Where you go: You’re studying on campus at the University of Macerata in central Italy.
• Degree level: You are enrolling for the first year of a 3-year Bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year Master’s degree programme. Single-cycle Master’s degree programmes are not taken into account.
• New student: This must be a new full-time enrolment. You cannot apply if you are transferring from another university or degree programme, are already studying at UniMC, or have previously received a scholarship from UniMC.
• Nationality: You are an EU citizen (but not an Italian citizen) or a non-EU citizen living abroad, and you hold a school or higher education qualification obtained outside Italy. If you hold any nationality other than Italian citizenship, you are not eligible to apply.
• Field of study: Discover the wide range of degree programmes offered by UniMC, including Law, Languages and Translation, Economics and Finance, International Relations, Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
• Age: To enrol on a Bachelor’s degree programme, you must have been born in 2001 or later. To enrol on a Master’s degree programme, you must have been born in 1998 or later.
• Other funding: This funding cannot be combined with similar grants, such as MAECI government grants, the ‘Invest Your Talent in Italy’ programme, or CRUI or ERDIS grants.

How to apply

You must submit a preliminary application via apply.unimc.it or the online form by 24 April at 23:59 Italian time. Please attach a copy of your identity card, your school or university certificate, a CV and a short motivation video in the course language (English or Italian). A selection panel will then assess applicants on the basis of their academic achievements, a letter of recommendation, a language certificate at level B2 or higher, and the motivation video. If you are selected, please confirm your participation by email within 7 days.

How realistic are your chances?

With only 20 places available worldwide and a generous, well-documented support package, this scholarship attracts numerous applicants, meaning the selection process is very competitive. Your grades and a compelling motivation video are crucial for standing out from other applicants, and a B2 language certificate is an advantage. If you clearly meet the age and nationality requirements, have good grades and apply well in advance of the April deadline, your chances are good.
