ERDIS Marche scholarship (Borsa di studio)

You get a yearly package to study in the Marche region of Italy: a cash payment plus free services. The cash amount depends on your family income and on whether you live at home or away. On top of the cash, you get free canteen meals (one a day if you commute, two a day if you study away from home), a free dorm room for out-of-town students while places last, and a full waiver of enrolment and regional tuition fees. If you graduate on time, you get a one-off bonus worth 50% of your last cash payment. Students going abroad with Erasmus+ or a similar programme can also claim up to 600 EUR per month for up to 10 months, and students with a disability can get up to 2,000 EUR for study aids. This is state student aid run by ERDIS, the public body for the right to higher education in the Marche region, part-funded by the EU. Funding lasts the normal length of your degree (roughly 7 semesters for a bachelor's, 5 for a master's). You must reapply each academic year.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled at a university, academy, conservatory or arts/music institution in the Marche region, for example the universities of Camerino, Macerata, Urbino or the Politecnica delle Marche in Ancona.
• Degree level: Bachelor's, master's, single-cycle master's, doctorate or specialisation. It must be your first qualification at that level.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply, from both EU and non-EU countries.
• Family income: Your household means-test figure (ISEE) is at most 24,000 EUR, and your wealth figure (ISPE) is at most 50,000 EUR.
• Study progress: First-year students are checked afterwards and need at least 20 ECTS credits by the set date. From the second year on, you must have earned a set number of credits.
• Not eligible: You cannot apply if you already hold an equal or higher qualification, or if you are repeating a year or off-track in your studies.

How to apply

You apply only online through the ERDIS portal. You log in with an Italian digital ID (SPID, CIE or CNS). Foreign students without one can use an ERDIS accreditation and identify themselves at a counter afterwards. The deadline for 2026/2027 is 28 August 2026 and cannot be extended. There is no interview. Awards are decided by a ranking based on your income figures and study progress, with provisional lists around mid-September and final lists in October.

How realistic are your chances?

This is means-tested state aid, not a contest of essays or interviews. If your income is below the ISEE and ISPE limits and you meet the credit requirements, you have a real claim rather than long odds. The cash amount and the number of dorm places depend on funding and rank, so apply early and complete. Make sure your ISEE is signed and ready before the deadline, since a missing or late one rules you out.
