What you get

The Aosta Valley region (Regione Autonoma Valle d'Aosta) in Italy pays a yearly grant to students at universities inside the region. There are two separate calls, and you can apply to only one. The first call (Primo bando) pays more.

• Main grant, first call: EUR 2,217 to EUR 4,903 per year, depending on your family's income.
• Main grant, second call: EUR 1,470 to EUR 2,470 per year.
• Housing top-up: If you pay rent or live in student housing, you add EUR 3,102 to EUR 4,856 (first call) or EUR 1,970 to EUR 2,870 (second call) on top of the main grant.
• Tuition fees: The first call also waives or refunds your university fees for the year.
• Extras: Both calls add a top-up for study periods abroad. The first call also offers a graduation bonus.

The income figure used is the ISEE-Universitario, an official Italian measure of your household's financial situation. It is not a simple sum of family income, so check your own certified ISEE before assuming you are over the limit.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled at a university in the Aosta Valley: the University of Aosta Valley or the region's recognised music institute. The nursing course of the University of Turin based in Aosta can apply to the second call only.
• Field of study: Any subject at these institutions.
• Financial limit, first call: Your ISEE-Universitario is no more than EUR 27,948.60 and your ISPE (a measure of family assets) is no more than EUR 60,757.87.
• Financial limit, second call: Your ISEE-Universitario is no more than EUR 44,000, with no asset limit. This call is for students over the first call's limits but still under EUR 44,000.
• Study progress: You have earned a minimum number of university credits (CFU) by a set date. Your exam marks do not count, only how many credits you have.

How to apply

You apply through the region's online portal. For the 2025/2026 year the deadline for both calls is 19 December 2025 at 12:00. You must reapply every academic year, as the grant does not renew automatically.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is limited to students at a handful of institutions inside the Aosta Valley and turns mainly on income, not grades, so the eligible group is small. If your ISEE falls under the relevant call's limit and you have the required credits, your prospects are good. Check which call fits your ISEE and apply before the December deadline.
