About this scholarship
David Stewart Scholarship
You will receive a one-off discount of 4,000 GBP (about 4,700 EUR) on your tuition fees for a one-year Master’s programme at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. Four of these scholarships are awarded in each round. You can also combine this scholarship with the Aberdeen Global Scholarship (8,000 GBP for international students), meaning that both grants can reduce your tuition fees at the same time.
Who can apply
- Nationality: You are a Malaysian national and normally live in Malaysia.
- Degree level: You are starting a full-time Master’s programme with lectures, i.e. a taught programme rather than a research programme.
- Field of study: Any subject.
- Offer: You have already received an offer from the University of Aberdeen to start your studies in September 2026 or January 2027.
- Grades: You must hold at least a degree equivalent to a British first-class honours degree from 2, awarded by a recognised Malaysian university.
- Funding: You are funding your studies yourself and do not receive any financial support from the Malaysian government.
- Priority: You will be given priority if you are not receiving any other scholarship and have accepted your place at university on a binding basis. The Aberdeen Global Scholarship and student loan are not taken into account in this context.
How to apply
Please send the application form, your academic transcript and a letter of recommendation by email or post to the university’s regional manager. For a start date in September 2026, the application deadline is 17 July 2026. For a start date in January 2027, it is 15 November 2026.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is awarded to only a select few. Only self-funded Malaysian students who have already been offered a place at Aberdeen and who meet the academic requirements may apply, and only four scholarships will be awarded. If you clearly meet these criteria, are not receiving any other scholarship and have accepted your place at the university, your chances are good. Applying early and securing your place at the university before the selection committee meets will improve your chances.
