About this scholarship

Ecole Polytechnique Foundation/DRI Scholarship for the Fourth Year

You get 7,150 EUR in total, paid over 11 months, which works out at about 650 EUR per month. The money supports you during your fourth year (4A) of the Ingenieur Polytechnicien programme spent in France. It is awarded jointly by the Fondation de l'Ecole polytechnique and the university's international relations office (DRI).

Who can apply

  • Programme: You study in the Ingenieur Polytechnicien programme at Ecole Polytechnique.
  • Where you go: You plan to spend your fourth year (4A) in France.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Entry route: Both admission paths count: the French preparatory-class route (CPGE) and the university route (FU).

How to apply

You apply online through the DRI's international mobility office during your third year of the programme. Places are decided after an individual interview. If you apply for this funding, you are also considered automatically for the Carnot scholarship, with no separate application needed.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut narrowly. Only students already in the Ingenieur Polytechnicien programme who plan to spend their fourth year in France can apply, so the pool is small. If you clearly meet those conditions and prepare well for the interview, your prospects are good. Being flagged automatically for the Carnot scholarship is a further plus.
