About this scholarship
What the Eiffel Master's scholarship gives you
You will receive 1,200 EUR per month (from January 2026) to study for a Master’s or engineering degree in France. In addition to the monthly allowance, you will receive an international return flight, transport costs within France, health insurance, support with finding accommodation, as well as cultural excursions and activities. The funding covers up to 12 months if you are only completing the final year of your Master’s degree (M2), up to 24 months if you start from the first year of your Master’s degree (M1), and up to 36 months for an engineering programme. The programme is run by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs through Campus France to attract top international students. The scholarship does not cover tuition fees, but if you receive a scholarship from the French government, you are exempt from tuition fees at public universities anyway.
Who can apply
- Level: You would like to study for a Master’s or engineering degree in France.
- Field of study: You are studying one of the following subject areas: Biology and Health, Environmental Change, Mathematics and Digital Technologies, Engineering, History, French Language and Culture, Law and Political Science, or Economics and Management.
- Nationality: You are a foreign national. If you also hold French nationality, you are not eligible to apply.
- Age: You must be 29 or younger to enrol on a Master’s programme.
- Where you study now: You are not yet studying in France. Students who are currently abroad are given priority over those who are already living in France.
- Grades: You’ve got top marks. A panel of judges will be selecting the best pupils, so your marks need to stand out.
How to apply
You cannot apply directly. Only French higher education institutions can submit applications. Your first step is therefore to choose a French higher education institution, contact its international office and ask them to nominate you. Campus France in your home country can provide you with the relevant contact details. The university will send your documents to Campus France by 8 January; a panel of experts will make the decision, and the results will be published from the end of March.
How realistic are your chances?
The hardest part isn’t the selection panel, but persuading a French university to accept you and nominate you, as you cannot apply yourself. The number of places is severely limited by the subject area, age and the rule that you must not already be studying in France, which keeps the pool of applicants manageable. If a French institution is supporting you and you have good grades, you should contact the universities well in advance of the January application deadline, as the entire process is handled through them.
