GREAT Scholarship at Anglia Ruskin University

You will receive a discount of about 11,800 EUR (10,000 GBP) on your tuition fees for the first year of a one-year full-time Master’s programme at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) in the UK. This is a tuition fee reduction rather than a cash payment, so the amount you have to pay directly to the university will be reduced accordingly. Funding is provided jointly by ARU, the British Council and the UK Government’s ‘GREAT Britain’ campaign. For the period from 2026 to 27, there are three scholarships: one each for a student from Indonesia, India and Ghana.

Who can apply

• Nationality: You hold a passport issued by Indonesia, India or Ghana.
• Degree level: You are applying for a full-time Master’s programme with face-to-face teaching, which begins in September 2026.
• Offer in hand: You have already received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission from ARU for a place on an eligible degree programme.
• Field of study: If you are from Indonesia, any full-time Master’s degree programme will be recognised. If you are from Ghana or India, only certain degree programmes are eligible, particularly in the fields of education, economics and finance, and health management; in the case of India, these are supplemented by robotics, crop production and pharmacy.
• No double funding: You will not receive any further scholarship or ARU discount for the same degree programme. Furthermore, you cannot combine this funding with other ARU scholarships or early-payment discounts.

How to apply

First, obtain an offer of admission from ARU for an eligible Master’s programme. Then complete the separate online form for the GREAT scholarship. The application deadline for the 2026 round was 30 April. A 2027 round has been announced, but the dates for this have not yet been finalised.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is granted to only a very small number of applicants. There is only one place per country, and for Ghana and India, only a limited selection of degree programmes is eligible. This keeps the pool of applicants small, meaning that a well-suited candidate has a genuine chance of success. Nevertheless, the fact that there is only one place per country ensures that competition is fierce. Make sure you secure your place at ARU well in advance and submit the scholarship application form as soon as the application round begins.
