Benefit

You get a full scholarship to study for a master's degree at a Dutch university, funded for up to 24 months. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs covers your tuition fees, visa costs, health insurance and study materials. The Indonesian education fund LPDP (Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan) adds your international flight, an arrival allowance, monthly living costs, and support for your thesis, seminars and publications. There is also an emergency fund. Around 25 scholarships are awarded in the 2026 cycle. Funding covers one full master's programme. If your studies run longer than the funded period, you pay the remaining costs yourself.

Eligibility

• Nationality: You are an Indonesian citizen, including civil servants, military and police (CPNS/PNS/TNI/POLRI).
• Where you live: You currently live and work in Indonesia.
• Degree so far: You have completed a bachelor's or D4 degree. If you already hold a master's, you cannot apply.
• Grades: Your grade point average is at least 3.00 on a 4.0 scale.
• Age: You are at most 35 years old on 31 December of the application year.
• English: You have a TOEFL iBT score of at least 90 or IELTS 6.5, taken within the last 2 years.
• Field of study: You choose one master's programme from the official list. Areas include water management, sustainable economy and urban development, maritime and supply chain, security and cybersecurity, governance and development, entrepreneurship, and health management.
• Return commitment: You agree to return to Indonesia after graduating and to work there for twice the length of your studies.
• No double funding: You are not enrolled in another master's programme and do not hold an equivalent scholarship.
• Preference: Mid-career professionals (people with several years of work experience) are favoured.

How to apply

The process has two steps. First, you apply to your chosen Dutch university and secure an unconditional admission letter. Follow that university's own deadline, as some fall in mid-February 2026. Second, you apply online to LPDP through its scholarship portal by 23 February 2026. Selection then includes an aptitude test and interviews. Final results are announced on 22 June 2026, for studies starting from August 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is tightly targeted. Only Indonesian citizens who live and work in Indonesia, hold no master's yet, and apply to a specific list of Dutch programmes can compete, which keeps the applicant pool small. With around 25 places and a clear priority for mid-career professionals, your prospects are good if you meet the GPA, age and English thresholds and can present a strong case for returning to work in Indonesia. Get your university admission letter early, since the whole application depends on it.
