IMT Atlantique - Scholarships & Fundings

What you get

IMT Atlantique is a French engineering school with campuses in Brest, Nantes and Rennes. It reduces the cost of its English-taught Master of Science (MSc) programmes through several fee cuts. Regular tuition runs from about 6,500 to 9,000 EUR per year. Depending on your case, you can get:

• Merit-based fellowship (a fee reduction for top students): a partial cut to your tuition, given to the strongest MSc applicants, including graduates of IMT Atlantique's partner universities.
• Reduced rate for European students: lower tuition if you are European and admitted to an MSc programme.
• Full tuition waiver: tuition covered in full for European double-degree and exchange students. Some participation costs may still apply.

The school also points you towards outside scholarships, such as your home country's government grants and French embassy programmes. You apply for those separately.

Who can apply

• Level: You are applying to a Master of Science (MSc), double-degree or exchange programme at IMT Atlantique.
• Field of study: Your programme is in engineering, computer science, data science, energy or a related technical field, taught in English.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply. European students get the reduced rate and the full waiver for exchange or double degrees. Non-European students compete for the merit-based fee cut.
• Grades: The merit-based fellowship goes to the best applicants, so strong academic results decide who gets it.

How to apply

You do not file a separate application for the merit-based fellowship. It is decided as part of the MSc admissions process, based on how strong your application is. Exchange and double-degree students are nominated through the Mobility Online platform. The deadline is before 1 May for the autumn semester and before 1 November for the spring semester. You have to find and apply for outside scholarships yourself.

How realistic are your chances?

The internal fee reductions are tied to admission, so your prospects rise and fall with the strength of your MSc application. The full waivers and reduced rates are reserved for European students. The merit fellowship rewards the top applicants rather than everyone admitted, so a very strong academic record is what tips the balance. If you are European and applying for an exchange or double degree, the fee relief is far easier to secure than the competitive merit award.
