Orange Tulip Scholarship Mexico at Tio University of Applied Sciences

Depending on the quality of your application, you will receive a tuition fee waiver of either 3,575 EUR or 7,510 EUR. This applies to one academic year (12 months) of a Bachelor’s degree programme at Tio University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. This covers tuition fees only; it does not cover your living costs. Two waivers are available. The university funds these as part of the wider ‘Orange Tulip’ scholarship programme, which is administered by Nuffic, the Dutch organisation for international education, via its office in Mexico.

Who can apply

• Nationality: You are a Mexican national and live permanently in Mexico.
• Where you study: You are studying at Tio University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.
• Field of study: You are studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Economics), for example in Hotel and Event Management, International Tourism Management or International Business Management.
• Age: You are between 18 and 35 years old.
• Admission first: You have already started or completed the admission process at Tio before applying for the scholarship.
• No prior Dutch study: You have not previously studied or worked in the Netherlands. Short-term stays are acceptable.
• English: You have an IELTS score of at least 6.0 or a TOEFL score of at least 80.
• Grades: You have achieved excellent academic results.

How to apply

First, apply for admission to Tio. You must then submit your scholarship application via Nuffic Neso México by 1 May. The Mexico office will shortlist the applicants, after which the university will review the shortlist in detail, in some cases as part of an interview. The results will be available in early June.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is very narrowly defined. Only outstanding Mexican students enrolled on a specific business studies programme at a Dutch university are eligible to apply, and there are only two exceptions. As a result, the pool of eligible applicants remains small. If you clearly meet the requirements regarding grades, age and language skills, and secure a place at Tio well in advance, your prospects are good. Given the limited number of exceptions, a compelling, well-documented application is crucial.
