About this scholarship
What the Steinmann Fund gives you
You will receive a personal grant to help cover the costs of vocational training or a degree course in Denmark. In some cases, you may also be able to obtain a loan on favourable terms. The fund does not specify a fixed amount, so each grant is worked out individually. The money comes from a Danish charitable foundation established in 1982 from the estate of the Copenhagen entrepreneur Karl Peter Vilhelm Steinmann. He grew up in poverty and wanted to help people with little formal education to complete a vocational training programme and stand on their own two feet.
Who can apply
- Who it is for: You have little formal education and want training or schooling so you can build a stable, independent life.
- Field of study: Any subject or type of training.
- Where you study: You are studying in Denmark. Studying abroad is not funded.
- Institution: Any school or training provider. There is no set list.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
- Schools too: Schools and organisations that provide training for people in this situation can also apply for funding.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted exclusively via the Fund’s online system, GrantOne, which you can access via its website. The deadline for applications is 1 October. The Executive Board will decide on the applications at its meeting at the end of October.
