About this scholarship
TEV international scholarship
You will receive a monthly contribution towards your living costs whilst studying for a Master’s degree abroad, including at a university in Spain such as IE University in Madrid. The grant is awarded for one year at a time. The Turkish Education Foundation (TEV) has been awarding these scholarships since 1969 to Turkish students at leading universities in the USA and Western Europe. The scholarship covers part of your daily living costs, but not your tuition fees.
Who can apply
- Nationality: You are a Turkish citizen.
- Degree level: You are starting a Master’s degree programme abroad. Bachelor’s degree programmes, Erasmus placements, exchange semesters, summer schools and language courses are not eligible for funding.
- Where you go: You are studying in the USA or in a Western European country such as Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Italy, Portugal or Denmark. France, Germany and the United Kingdom have their own separate TEV programmes.
- Field of study: There are many subjects to choose from, including economics and communication.
- Financial need: You can provide evidence that you need financial support to study abroad.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted via the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV). Please apply before the start of your degree programme. The exact deadlines are published on the TEV website and vary depending on the degree programme. You should therefore apply as soon as the application round begins.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is restricted to Turkish nationals who are going abroad to study for a Master’s degree, which already narrows down the pool of applicants. It serves merely as a contribution towards living costs and does not cover tuition fees, so those who apply are generally people who would otherwise be able to fund their studies themselves. If you clearly meet the eligibility criteria regarding nationality and academic qualifications and can demonstrate a financial need, your prospects are quite good.
