About this award / prize
What the Torbern Bergman Medal is
You are being awarded a honorary medal for outstanding scientific achievements in analytical chemistry, the field that develops methods for measuring and identifying chemical substances. This is an international award presented at the national conference of the Swedish Chemical Society. The award was established in 1967 by the Society’s Analytical Section. It honours Torbern Bergman, a chemist from Uppsala of the 18, who is regarded as a pioneer in this field. The medal is not awarded annually, but only every few years. With this award, you therefore join a select group of world-leading analysts, ranging from Kai Siegbahn to Carol Robinson and Graham Cooks. There is no prize money associated with the award.
