Willis Corroons Funds scholarship

You will receive a one-off scholarship of 50,000 SEK (about 4,450 EUR) to study international insurance. You may use the money towards a self-organised study trip abroad, an internship abroad or course fees. The fund is administered by the Swedish Insurance Association (Svenska Försäkringsföreningen). It has been awarded since 1998 in memory of Lennart Elmlund.

Who can apply

• What you do: You are a young employee in the general insurance sector or a student at a university.
• Your focus: You have a particular interest in the international aspects of the insurance industry.
• Field of study: Insurance or a related subject in economics.
• Where you go: You’re spending the money abroad, not in your home country.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Applications are submitted online via the Swedish Insurance Federation’s website. You will first need to create a user account. Application rounds take place on a regular basis, with deadlines in late summer and autumn.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is awarded on a highly selective basis. You must be working in the field of general insurance or be undertaking a degree at university level, with a clear focus on the international aspect of the insurance industry. This keeps the pool of applicants small. If you fit this profile and can demonstrate a concrete plan for a study trip, an internship or a course abroad, your chances are good.
