General Description

The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) and the Council of Managers of National Antarctic Programs (COMNAP) works closely together to initiate, develop and co-ordinate international research in the Antarctic and Southern Ocean area. There are two research fellowship opportunities where you can apply for funds. Those are the SCAR Fellowship and the COMNAP Fellowship. The money is awarded to current PhD researchers and/or postgraduate researchers. The amount is up to $15 000 per award.

Requirements

Applicants should be a current PhD student or 5 years from finishing PhD/the highest degree obtained. Visiting a facility in or run by a SCAR/COMNAP member country, which is different from the applicant's (a) country of origin and (b) current country of residence. Additionally, the work should contribute to the objectivities one or more of the "Standing Scientific Groups"
