Adlerbert Foundations scholarship

You will receive a one-off, tax-free grant of 15,000 SEK (about 1,350 EUR) from the Adlerbert Foundations via the University of Gothenburg. When applying, please select one of two ways to use the grant. The first is a travel grant for a study-related trip. Trips abroad take priority, followed by travel within Sweden. The trip must not begin before 1 January 2026 and must be completed before the start of the autumn term 2027. Commutes to Gothenburg and journeys of less than 50 km are not eligible for funding. The second option is a grant towards living costs, which will only be paid out if funds remain after the travel grants have been awarded. You may only choose one option per call for applications, and you cannot change your choice once the deadline has passed. You may receive this grant twice during your Bachelor’s and Master’s studies.

Who can apply

• University: You are a Bachelor’s or Master’s student at the University of Gothenburg.
• Credits earned: You have already earned at least 30 credit points there, which were recorded in the student information system within the specified deadline.
• Credits ahead: You are enrolled for at least 30 further credit points between 1 July 2026 and 30 June 2027.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are studying at the university.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the University’s online scholarship system between 24 August and 14 September 2026. Late applications will not be considered. To apply for a travel allowance, please state your destination and travel dates, briefly explain how this relates to your studies, and attach a cost estimate. No justification is required for living expenses. Applicants will be ranked according to the number of credit points they have already earned; in the event of a tie, the decision will be made by lot. You will be notified of the decision by email at the end of October.

How realistic are your chances?

Eligibility is restricted to students from Gothenburg who have already earned 30 credit points, but this is still a large group, and selection is based solely on the number of credit points earned. Your chances are best if you apply for a study period abroad, as these are prioritised, and if you have already accumulated a high number of credits. Living cost grants are only paid if funds remain, so they are the hardest to obtain.
