About this scholarship
Benefit
You will receive a financial grant if you are a dancer facing financial hardship, particularly whilst recovering from an illness or injury. The amount is not published and is determined on a case-by-case basis. The grant may be awarded for up to 12 months. The Cramér Foundation in Stockholm awards these grants each year from the income generated by its endowment, in memory of the choreographers and dancers Tyyne Talvo-Cramér and Ivo Cramér.
Eligibility
- Who you are: You are a professional dancer. This applies if you are currently working as one, have worked as one for many years, or have some other close connection to dance.
- Your situation: You are finding it difficult to continue working due to illness, a disability or other difficulties. Dancers who are changing career direction and need support to remain active are also eligible for funding.
- Financial need: You need financial support, particularly to help with your recovery from health problems.
- Field: Dance and the performing arts. Other artists are supported only in exceptional cases.
- Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
How to apply
Please submit your application to the Foundation by 31 December. Decisions on the allocation of grants are made once a year; the grants are presented at a ceremony in the spring.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is aimed exclusively at professional dancers in financial difficulty, usually due to illness, injury or a change of career, meaning that very few people apply for it. If you clearly fit this profile and can provide evidence of your financial hardship, your chances are good. As a small foundation funded from its own endowment, it places greater value on a clear, honest application than on a polished one.
