Fellenius and Zanders Foundation Scholarship

You receive a one-off scholarship payment when you finish your Civil Engineering and Urban Management degree (the Swedish Samhällsbyggnad programme) at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. The money comes from the annual interest of two donation funds, so the amount changes each year. KTH student scholarships generally range from 2,000 to 40,000 SEK (roughly 180 to 3,600 EUR). The Zanders fund is split equally between two students each year, and the Fellenius fund can also be shared among several. Both are managed by KTH's School of Architecture and the Built Environment.

Who can apply

• University and programme: You study the Civil Engineering and Urban Management (Samhällsbyggnad) degree at KTH in Stockholm.
• Study phase: You are in your final stage and about to graduate.
• Performance: You have strong study results and stand out through practical skills, hard work and good conduct.
• Bonus for Fellenius: You get extra recognition if you finish a strong thesis within the standard study time and it is linked to work in the water engineering laboratory.

How to apply

You apply through the scholarship page in the KTH student portal, which you reach after logging in with a KTH account. The award is announced once a year. The chair of KTH's Scholarship Council decides who gets it and notifies you by e-mail.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut very narrowly: only graduating students on one specific KTH engineering programme can apply, so the eligible group is small. If you clearly meet those requirements and have solid results, your prospects are good. A strong thesis tied to the water engineering lab helps for the Fellenius part. Since only a handful of students share the funds each year, a well-documented record of study success and practical work sets you apart.
