You get a study grant to train further in nursing while you keep working in the Swedish healthcare system. The foundation sets the amount and pays it case by case, so the sum is not published. It supports single women who work as an assistant nurse (undersköterska) or a nurse (sjuksköterska) and want to build on that qualification. Any nursing training counts, of any length, except training to become a doctor. The foundation was set up in 2024 to help women who earn less on the labour market, above all single mothers, afford this career step.

Who can apply

• Who you are: You are a single woman. If you have a minor child, you get priority.
• Your job: You are a licensed assistant nurse (undersköterska) or nurse (sjuksköterska) in the Swedish healthcare system.
• What you study: You want to start, or have already started, further nursing training. Any employer is fine. Training to become a doctor is not funded.

How to apply

You apply online through the foundation's grant portal. Applications for the autumn semester run from 15 May to 15 August. You normally hear back within two months of the deadline. You attach a residence record (familjebevis or personbevis) showing who lives at your address, plus proof of enrolment or admission.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is cut very narrowly: single women who are licensed assistant nurses or nurses in Sweden and want to train further, with single mothers prioritised. The eligible group is small, so few people compete for it. If you clearly meet these conditions, especially as a single mother, and apply within the window, your prospects are good.
