About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive a scholarship from JAK Medlemsbank, a co-operative bank in Sweden owned by its members, for a Master’s thesis or project on the topic of sustainable and fair economics. The bank awards the scholarship twice a year, and recipients are selected on the basis of their academic merit.
Who can apply
- Degree level: You are enrolled on a Master’s programme and have completed about half of your studies.
- Field of study: You are studying economics, specialising in sustainable or interest-free economics, as well as local and global justice.
- Where you study: You’re studying at a university in Sweden.
- Nationality: Open to all nationalities.
- Grades: You have strong academic results, since the bank picks winners on academic merit.
How to apply
You can apply twice a year. The deadlines are on 1 May and on 1 November.
How realistic are your chances?
This award has very strict eligibility criteria. You must be a Master’s student in Sweden, be studying sustainable or interest-free economics, and have completed around half of your degree – so the pool of eligible applicants is small. If you clearly fit this profile and can demonstrate impressive results, your chances are good. What’s more, you have two opportunities to apply each year.
