About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive a one-off scholarship for your university studies. The exact amount has not yet been officially confirmed. Previous scholarship recipients have cited figures in the region of 10,000 to 15,000 SEK (roughly 900 to 1,350 EUR); you should therefore regard this figure as a guide rather than a fixed amount. The money will be transferred to your bank account as soon as the board has approved your application. The foundation was established in memory of Fredrik Lindström, a businessman from Eskilstuna, to help young people from the town continue their studies after leaving school.

Eligibility

  • Connection to Eskilstuna: You live in the municipality of Eskilstuna or have spent most of your life or your student years there.
  • Age: You are under 30 when you apply.
  • Level of study: You are studying at a university or university of applied sciences and have completed at least one year of study, which corresponds to at least 60 credit points.
  • Field of study: Any subject. If you are studying in the field of the arts and have fewer formal qualifications, the committee will take this into account.
  • Grades and pace: You have good final grades from upper secondary school and keep a steady study pace.
  • Financial need: Your financial situation is not good. The board takes financial need into account as one of the factors.
  • Bonus: Stays abroad and work placements will have a positive impact on your application.

How to apply

Submit your application using the official form – either online or as a printed PDF. Post the signed application to the Foundation in Eskilstuna. Applications sent by email will not be accepted. You can apply at any time of the year. The Board meets four times a year, and you will receive a written decision within one month of the meeting.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is very strictly defined. You must have a genuine connection to Eskilstuna, be under the age of 30, have completed at least one year of higher education, and be able to prove that your financial situation is difficult. As a result, the group of eligible applicants remains small and competition is limited. If you clearly meet these conditions and can provide evidence of your grades, credit points and financial need, your chances are good.
