About this scholarship
What the Örensgårdsfonden gives you
As a practising carer, you will receive a grant. There is no fixed amount; the amount will depend on your application. The grant covers one of two options: attending a specialist conference in Sweden to keep your professional knowledge up to date, or a study trip or short course to relax and recharge your batteries. The fund is administered by the Swedish Nurses’ Association (Svensk sjuksköterskeförening). It does not cover the costs of university studies, accredited courses, psychotherapy training, measures to further your professional qualifications, or trips abroad.
Who can apply
- Your job: You are a licensed nurse (legitimerad sjuksköterska) in Sweden.
- The application is for you: You are applying on your own behalf, for your own conference, study trip or short course. You cannot apply on behalf of another person.
- Where it takes place: A conference must take place in Sweden. No funding is provided for travel outside Sweden.
- Income check (recreation only): If you are applying for a study trip or a short course to recharge your batteries, your income will be assessed. A single-person household must earn less than 236,800 SEK (approx. 21,000 EUR) per year. Add 59,200 SEK (approx. 5,300 EUR) for each additional person in your household.
- Timing: You must submit the application before you spend the money. Any costs already paid will not be reimbursed.
How to apply
You apply online via the SEB Foundation’s portal. You log in using your Swedish BankID and clearly state what the grant is intended for. Only complete applications will be processed. The next deadline is on 17 September 2026 at 14:00, and you will receive a response within approximately 9 weeks.
How realistic are your chances?
This fund is narrowly targeted: you must be a licensed nurse in Sweden applying for a conference, study trip or short course. That keeps the applicant pool small. If you clearly fit this profile, name a specific purpose, and (for recreation grants) stay under the income limit, your prospects are good. Remember to apply before you spend anything, since paid costs cannot be reimbursed.
