Aberystwyth University - Residential Bursary

What the Residential Bursary gives you

You will receive a grant of 460 EUR (400 GBP) discount towards your accommodation costs for your first year of study at Aberystwyth University in Wales. To receive this grant, you must live in a university hall of residence or another building managed by the university. A student hall of residence is student accommodation run by the university, not by a private landlord. The discount will be automatically deducted from your rent, so you do not need to submit a separate application.

Who can apply

• University: You are starting your first year of study at Aberystwyth University.
• First choice: You have indicated Aberystwyth as your ‘firm choice’, i.e. your clear first choice.
• Where you live: In your first year of study, you’ll live in a student hall of residence or in accommodation managed by the university.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

You do not need to complete a separate form. Apply to Aberystwyth University by 30 June and list it as your first choice. Provided you meet the eligibility criteria, the scholarship will be awarded automatically.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competitive allocation. There is neither a selection process nor a fixed number of places. However, if you list Aberystwyth as your first choice by 30 June and move into university-managed accommodation in your first year of study, you will receive the discount. You simply need to meet the deadline and choose the correct type of accommodation.
